CliniPeds Privacy Policy

CliniPeds is a pediatric drug dosing reference and calculator for qualified healthcare professionals, available as a web app and mobile app. This policy describes what data CliniPeds collects, why, and how you can control it. It applies to all platforms.

The short version

• Patient data never leaves your device. Weights, ages, heights, and the Rx pad are held in memory only and are erased when the app closes. They are never transmitted, stored, or logged by us.
• We collect the minimum needed to run accounts: your email address, plus your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google.
• No ads. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Your data is never sold or shared for marketing.

Data we collect

• Account data — email address; name and profile photo when you use Google sign-in. Used to authenticate you and manage access to the dosing database. Processed by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC).
• Terms acceptance — a record of which terms version you accepted and when, linked to your account.
• Dataset delivery records — when your account downloads the offline dosing database, we log the account, time, and dataset version (abuse prevention and licensing audit).
• Crash and error reports — error message, technical stack trace, the screen you were on, app version, and platform. These help us fix defects; they contain no patient parameters.
• Feedback — anything you type into the in-app feedback form, plus the screen it was sent from, app version, and platform.
• App preferences — theme, favorites, region, and visible sources are stored only on your device and are not transmitted.

What we do NOT collect

• No patient identifiers or patient parameters (weight, age, height, gestational age).
• No location data, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising.
• No usage analytics or behavioral tracking.

Where data is processed

Account and service data is processed by Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage) on Google Cloud infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by the platform. See Firebase Privacy and Security.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account exists. Crash reports, feedback, and delivery records are kept only as long as needed for debugging, data-quality follow-up, and abuse prevention, then deleted.

Deleting your account and data

In the app: About & legal → Privacy → "Delete my account and associated data" deletes your account and all data linked to it (account record, terms acceptance, dataset delivery records) immediately. Or email support@clinipeds.com from the address on the account and we complete deletion within 30 days. Crash reports and feedback are not linked to your identity beyond the account record and are purged on the same schedule.

Children

CliniPeds is a professional clinical reference about pediatric medicine; it is intended for healthcare professionals only and is not directed at children or caregivers. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We will update this page when the policy changes and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
